Dear Mr. Howard,

I'm a native Tico and have been living in the US since 1968. I'm still a Costa Rican citizen and at the age of 53, I'm looking forward to retirement in Costa Rica at age 60. I do have a large family in Costa Rica than can help me when I get back, however, I'm thinking of starting a small business when I get back and hopefully it will be tourist oriented. I would like to live in an area that's safe but not in the central valley nor directly on the beach. The ideal place that I'm looking for would be about 20 minutes from the Pacific coast but with easy reach to San Jose. I'm also looking for a climate that is not to hot or to cold or at least hot but with a pretty constant breeeze. I your opinion, what area of the country would you recomend, and how much money in dollars would you say a person would need per month to live comfortable and have live-in domestic help. Also, can I get dual citizenship and still be able to start a business down there. I need some direction as to where I may be able to purchase open land and build later, and what are of the country may match the climate and security that I described above.

Sincerely,
Rafael Fabrega Freer
